Event Important Information
This is a very straight forward 5k course that is run along the very beautiful and popular Swansea Promenade. The Race will start alongside the Petrol Station next to the Blackpill Lido and then finish a further 200 metres passed the Petrol Station bending round the Lido. For those who havent run the course before please see course information below.
Course Route
The total distance of this course is 5 Kilometres or 3.1 Miles. The map shown takes you along the prom to the car park opposite the White Rose pub in Oystermouth where there will be marshall's directing you around a set of cones and then back along the prom heading back to Blackpill for the finish.
The map shows just the first half of the course as the return leg is exactly the same route back along the prom.
This is a very flat and fast course and you will get some lovely scenic views across Swansea bay as you complete the course.
Registration & Check-In
The Registration Desk will be set up near the finish gantry which will be located towards the golf course end of Blackpill as shown on the diagram below. Registration will be open from 5.30pm and ALL race numbers along with timing chips are to be collected on the night. There will be two separate desks for online & on the night entries.
First Aid & Marshalls
There will be qualified first aid support on hand at the event and they will be situated at a point along the course and also at the Start/Finish Area.
There will also be marshalls all the way along the course directing the runners and making sure there are no problems. Should you need assistance at any point then head for the nearest marshall or first aider.
Car Parking
There is a car park situated opposite the blackpill Lido on off Mumbles Road. This is a fairly large car park but can fill up quickly especially on races. The postcode for Blackpill is SA3 5AS. From this the car park is very easy to find. It is a short walk across Mumbles Road to the start.
Toilets
There will be public toilets that will be open at the Blackpill Lido site located by the road crossing behind the Junction Cafe. I have been informed that there was also some additional porta-loo cubicle's that may still be on site on the night of the race also. However all available food & drink for the event will be located over near registration desk.
